The Permanent Secretary, Power, Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Louis Edozien, has applauded the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), for striving to remain well ahead of generation with the widespread ongoing nation – wide expansion of its network.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has said that it has successfully restored electricity supply to Birinin Gwari and Yauri in Kaduna and Kebbi States respectively. Power supply was restored at about 5:10pm on Monday, 24th July, 2017, 11days after the collapse of tower No 183 on Thursday, 13th July, 2017.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria has again increased transformer capacity in its Ajah substation with an additional 60MVA 132/33kV power transformer, which was successfully refurbished, installed and commissioned into service on July 11th, 2017, bringing the stations’ transformer capacity at 132kV level to 220MVA.
The Federal Government has commissioned the 2 x 60MVA, 132/33kV, Transmission Substation, Kukwaba, in Abuja, built by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), as part of efforts to improve power supply situation within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
